ARCH TENDON TREATMENT IN PORT CLINTON
Notice that the ink lines drawn on the sole of the foot encompass the entrie arch in this patient. The ligament of the sole of the foot, the plantar fascia, was tight from heel to toe in this case and gave pain with every step.
Notice that the Right foot (seen on the left half of the photo) has a "Y" shaped bulge in the arch of the foot. This is the plantar fascia as it is swollen and very tight in this athletic patient with flat feet. Flat feet commonly suffer from inflammatory conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunion deformity, and hammertoes just to name a few.
This photo reveals the long-standing change that inflammation of the plantar fascia has on the ligament over time. What is typically "Y" shaped has now become rectangular as you can see in the sole of this patient with chronic arch pain.
